Last time we looked at the Draghi Report with a view from Shanghai Metro Line 10. This time a view from Line 6 gives us pause to think about coal. Here is a collection of fragments, notes to follow up on.

When I think of fragments, I think of Nicolas Gomez Davila and his ‘prompts.’ In defense of fragments:

Continuous discourse tends to conceal the fractures of being.
The fragment is an expression of honest thought.

The point he makes repeatedly is that we tend to say too much. If we let more things go unsaid then there’s space for ideas to unfold. We can’t convince each other, we can only convince ourselves.
